Originally Published: October 27th, 2023

This year, we embarked on a joyous celebration of two significant milestones - the 20th anniversary of the Taiwan Design Center (TDC) and the 10th year since the founding of the Women in Action (WIA) Taiwan Chapter. The day was filled with exciting and educational events that brought our TDC family together in a memorable way.

TDC: A Legacy of Innovation and Design Excellence

For two glorious decades, the Taiwan Design Center has been at the forefront of innovation, creativity, and design excellence. There have been remarkable transformations and groundbreaking achievements in the world of design, and the journey continues with unwavering determination. The TDC has been a driving force behind WIA's success, fostering a culture of innovation that has allowed the Employee Resource Group (ERG) to thrive in a dynamic and ever-evolving industry.

WIA Taiwan: A Decade of Empowerment and Inspiration

Over the past ten years, the Women in Action (WIA) employee advocacy group has played a pivotal role in shaping the culture at TDC. Membership in the ERG has grown to encompass up to 30% of TDC employees, a testament to the positive impact of WIA in empowering and uplifting women in the workplace. WIA has been instrumental in facilitating personal and professional growth, fostering leadership, and promoting diversity and inclusion.

Celebration Highlights:

1) Senior WIA leaders Diana Yang, Jessy Wang, Blue Lin, and Eve Cheok discussed WIA's growth at TDC and encouraged open-mindedness, highlighting remarkable membership growth.

2) Inspiring workshops were held empowering team members, including Carnegie Women in Leadership, Google I am Remarkable, CareHer, and Mandarin Daily News for Reading Literacy. These events enhanced skills, confidence, career growth, and fostered unity within the community.

3) A Mother's Day event was hosted to celebrate the joys of parenthood, featuring an expert veterinarian, a beautiful harmonica performance, interactive activities and prizes.

4) Meghana Patwardhan, Vice President & General Manager for Commercial PCs and Software, shared her wisdom at a WIA executive forum, emphasizing informed decision-making, professional networking, and self-sufficiency.

5) Dell TDC Employee Day, a joint event with PRIDE, GenNext and Planet ERGs, attracted 203 members, showcasing inclusion and diversity, and preserving memories for future events.

The TDC community and WIA members have achieved significant milestones, reflecting on the strength and dedication of their community. They look forward to the future and thank their members for their support, wishing for more innovation, empowerment, and inspiration.
