Did you know that at Dell Technologies, Ireland has a total of three sites based in Dublin, Limerick, and Cork?

Starting with our headquarters in Dublin, Cherrywood– this location is an extremely vibrant and diverse campus with over 1,200 team members, 55 nationalities, and supporting 22 different languages for our customers across the globe! In 2023, Cherrywood celebrated its 30-year anniversary with many on-site activities and celebrations. Cherrywood is home to our Sales, Digital, HR, and Dell Financial Services (DFS) business units. The Dell Bank, DFS, opened its doors in Cherrywood in 2013, meaning we were now able to support our customers with financing out of our Ireland headquarters. In addition to our business units, Cherrywood has nine Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) active on-site with 57% overall membership. Our team members have worked hard to accumulate over 6,000 volunteer hours, collaborating with 332 charities and raising over $75,000 for extremely worthy causes! Cherrywood has also been recognized as #3 in LinkedIn’s Top 25 Best Workplaces to Grow Your Career in Ireland, which is incredible!

Next up, our Limerick Campus, which opened in 1991 by Michael Dell. Back then, there were 114 team members. Fast forward 33 years, and there are over 1000 team members from across 13 business units! Our Limerick Campus is our hybrid hub for many different Business Units, our Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity, Services, Logistics, Supply Chain and Fulfillment, and our Customer Solutions Centre. Our Limerick Campus has 100% sustainable energy and recycling on-site, with four labs present. Earlier in 2023, our Limerick Campus announced the expansion of its Customer Solution Centre Innovation Lab. Our team members in Limerick have accumulated 8,500 volunteer hours from over 400 volunteers, supporting 64 charities and raising $120,000 in matched funds! In addition to this, 70% of our team members participate in ERGs on-site with community engagement programs dedicated to STEM:

  • STEM Aspire: A female mentorship program for 3rd level students studying STEM. The program connects students with women role-models within Dell. Our objective is to encourage and empower students to graduate and have successful careers in the Technology sector.

  • Junior Achievement: Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) is a member of one of the world’s largest educational non-profits, helping prepare young people for their futures by delivering hands-on, experiential learning in entrepreneurship, employability, financial literacy and the value of STEM. Reaching more than 12 million young people each year, Junior Achievement (JA) is one of few organizations with the scale, experience, and passion to build a brighter future for the next generation. AI was established in Ireland in 1996 and since then has built up a strong demand from schools throughout the country and created successful partnerships with 180 leading organizations.

  • VEX Robotics: VEX Robotics is educational robotics for everyone. VEX solutions span all levels of both formal and informal education with accessible, scalable, and affordable solutions. Beyond science and engineering principles, VEX encourages creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem solving among groups. It allows educators of all types to engage and inspire the STEM problem solvers of tomorrow!

  • Transition Year Programs: In Ireland, students have the option of doing a TY year in school in 4th year, during this year they get to spend a week on site in companies learning different topics and what career paths are accessible for them. This year helps them lay the foundations in what subject choices and college course they may want to apply for after school.

  • Digital Futures: Digital Futures is an hour-long interactive session where we share with students what is it like to work in a Technology Company. We share details of the range of careers available, development opportunities and our own personal journeys. By knowing more about the jobs, we hope to stimulate interest in working for a technology company in the future. By doing this in a classroom session we are educating the students and also the teachers who are present which is a double-win.

Last but certainly not least, we move to our Cork Campus, which celebrated 35 years in 2023! Globally, our Cork Campus is the only Dell Technologies site with both a Customer Solution Centre and a manufacturing plant in one location, allowing seamless customer support. Earlier in 2023, we opened the first OTEL (Open Telecommunications Ecosystems Lab) outside of the US in Cork, which has further enhanced the Cork Campus as an EMEA hub for Dell Technologies. All Dell Technologies business units have a presence in Cork, with over 2000 team members. The Cork Campus is run on 100% renewable energy, and 1,000 trees were planted across the campus grounds to commemorate this. The Cork Campus also has a ‘Remembrance Garden’ located directly in the middle of the site, creating a special environment where team members can go and remember past employees who unfortunately are no longer with us. In the remembrance garden, we have a Japanese maple tree, which was planted by our Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Clarke, to mark the official merger of EMC and Dell Technologies. There are nine ERGs active on our Cork Campus, with five community engagement programs dedicated to STEM: STEM Aspire, Junior Achievement, VEX Robotics, Transition Year Programs, and Digital Futures.

As you can see, it’s incredible the breath of diversity present across our three sites in Ireland, located in Dublin, Limerick, and Cork. There is something for each team member, along with upskilling opportunities present across all three sites, ranging from our Female Leadership Development Program, Transform Program, and various mentor programs.

This year, we launched our new program, Pathfinderz, which is open to students registered with the Disability Support Services offices in The Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Technological University Dublin (TUD) and University College Dublin (UCD) aimed to empower participants with a purposeful program that nurtures their skills, helping them achieve their desired roles. We aim to provide students with essential tools for a fulfilling career path, while offering mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals at Dell.

We are a diverse team with unique perspectives. United in our purpose, our strategy, and our culture. Driven by our ambition and the power of technology to drive human progress. Unwavering in our commitment to equality, trust, and advocacy for one another.
